Fundraising

The cost of providing so many services to our students is high. As a result, Clearway School is always aided by any charitable contributions that it receives. Fundraised money and donations of goods has been used for a variety of purposes including:

AFTER-SCHOOL PROGRAMMING

Clearway depends on fundraised money to finance a social, after-school group that meets on Thursday afternoons. Over a decade ago, Clearway families approached Clearway staff with the concern that their students needed time to build friendships with peers - many of whom live far away.

These families also expressed concern that students needed support in socializing due to social/emotional or pragmatic language concerns. Clearway responded with the Thursday after-school group which has helped numerous students develop friendships and become better connected to our community.

Three years ago, our families expressed similar concerns that their sons/daughters lacked substantial, supportive options for athletics and as a result Clearway began an after-school Ultimate Frisbee team that trains in both the fall and spring and competes against other schools. This too was created with the support of generous donations. Clearway will continue to look to expand after-school programming through donations.

TECHNOLOGY

Clearway began a technology fundraiser that has led to the purchase of technology that has significantly improved classroom instruction. With fundraised money we have purchased:

Numerous interactive whiteboards

Kurzweil software that allows virtually any printed material to be read aloud to struggling readers. In addition, it provides tremendous organizational, writing, and curriculum preparation supports.

New computers so that now every classroom has multiple desktop computers and access to laptops. With class sizes of 4-5 students, this is sufficient to ensure that a student always has access to a computer.

Clearway's Board of Directors coordinates annual fundraising campaigns. Donations can be accepted at any time and are fully tax-deductible. Please make all checks out to Clearway School.
