Parent Involvement
    Communication with parents is an essential part of the Clearway School program. There are many opportunities for parents to work with our staff.  Each student’s educational counselor has weekly contact with parents to discuss any insights and/or issues that develop over the week.  In addition to the yearly IEP meetings, parents may request additional conferences when needed. 

   Scheduled parent evenings include an Open House night during the beginning of the school year; evening theater performances in January and May; and in June, a graduation and awards ceremony evening.  (see Calendar)

    All parents/guardians are invited to join the Parent Advisory Committee.  This group will give the administration of Clearway School feedback, support, and ideas on policies and programming.  The PAC is also used as a clearinghouse for sharing any information concerning the special education field.  The PAC has a parent leader and a representative of the school’s administration.  Parents/guardians are encouraged to join at the Open House in the beginning of the school year.  The PAC has thus far been instrumental in bringing high-speed Internet access into every classroom, facilitating social activities for students, and supporting families new to our program.

Fundraising
   The cost of providing so many services to our students is high. As a result,
Clearway School is always aided by any charitable contributions that it receives.
   Fundraised money and donations of goods has been used for a variety of purposes including:

• ensuring that every classroom has two computers with high-speed, internet access
• creating a separate computer lab
• improving our school's library
• helping to fund activities and elective programs that occur in the community
• purchasing laptop computers

   Clearway's Board of Directors coordinates annual fundraising campaigns. Donations can be accepted at any time and are fully tax-deductible. Please make all checks out to Clearway School.
